Personal POA
Let a trusted person stand in for the bride’s father or guardian where the court allows it, so the marriage can go ahead in the UAE even when he cannot attend.
Personal POA
With a marriage POA, the bride’s father or guardian can name someone to act for him at the stages of registering the marriage where the court allows representation, in Dubai or any other emirate. The appointed representative must meet the requirements of the relevant marriage court. We confirm the representative’s eligibility and the required POA wording before preparing the document.
This matters most when the father or guardian lives abroad and cannot travel for the wedding. Rules differ by court, religion and nationality, so we check what is accepted in your case before drafting. The powers listed below are examples rather than a full list.

Marriage POA
It is a legal document in which the bride’s father or other legal guardian authorizes a representative to act for him at the court when the marriage contract is concluded, where the court allows this. It is usually needed when the guardian is abroad or cannot attend in person.
In many cases, yes. UAE courts can accept a POA for the bride’s guardian when it is properly drafted, notarized and attested and meets the relevant court’s requirements. For Muslim marriages, its wording must also meet Islamic legal standards. We confirm the court’s requirements before drafting.
It must be notarized in the country where it is signed, then attested by the UAE Embassy there and by MOFA, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Finally, it needs an Arabic legal translation done by a certified UAE translator, and other documents issued abroad usually need legalization too.
Sometimes. For a civil marriage, the court decides whether a representative may act under a POA and on what conditions, such as notarization, wording limited to that purpose and approval in advance. Some steps still require the couple in person, so we confirm the court’s requirements first.
The appointed representative must meet the requirements of the relevant marriage court. We confirm the representative’s eligibility and the required POA wording before preparing the document.
It depends on the court and the type of marriage. Some steps allow a representative and others require you in person. We confirm this before drafting.
Yes. A marriage POA is limited to marriage procedures, which authorities generally prefer to a broad general POA.
